Updated: Jan 10, 2019

Aerospace, defense, high tech and medical device manufacturer R.M. Machining, Inc has just received their AS9100 Rev D certificate, reaffirming the company's commitment to quality. The team at R.M. Machining has been working diligently since the beginning of 2017 to review, improve and implement the rigorous requirements of the AS9100 Rev D.
The AS9100 Rev D aligns with the ISO 9001:2015 published in 2016, while one of the most significant changes is the concept of risk takes a more center stage in the new standard by having a more pronounced role, content and influence in an organizations actions and approach to processes and the quality management system. Other changes include the focus on oversight of management, accountability of suppliers, or now referred to as external providers, product safety, human factor as a consideration in nonconformity/corrective action, awareness of individual contribution to quality and product safety, and significant terminology changes. R.M. Machining took the opportunity to review not only the areas of the QMS that were and are impacted by the new revision but examine the QMS as a whole for redundancies and improved efficiency.
R.M. Machining, Inc. first received AS9100 certificate in 2007, since then aerospace and defense orders have continued to grow year over year.
